A brief History of Our Company
Mahan Motors, Inc. was originally incorporated as Columbus Lincoln Mercury, Inc. in July 1948. It was founded by the late Robert W. Mahan.
In December of 1957, Harrison Motors, which held the Ford Sales Agreement, went out of business and in April 1958, our company resigned the Lincoln-Mercury franchise and assumed the name of Mahan Ford Sales, Inc.
In 1974 we obtained our Honda franchise and began selling and servicing Hondas.
The company became Renner Motors, Inc. in February 1986. Keith Renner ran the company until his daughter, Lisa Hurley took over as president in 1998.
The current owner is Lisa Hurley, President. She is supported by the Board of Directors which includes Keith Renner, Chairman of the Board, Jeroyl Harris, Vice President, and Belinda Coleman, Secretary/Treasurer.
As you can see, as the oldest family owned dealer in Columbus, we have a vested interest in our city and surrounding community. All of Lisa's children attended or do still attend school in Columbus. Lisa is involved in many community service organizations.
While writing the Employee Manual in 1986, Keith stated the company's basic policies are as follows:
- Rigid honesty in our relationship with our customers and employees
- A friendly and enthusiastic attitude toward all visitors to our place of business
- A constant striving for excellence in the quality of our work, whether selling or servicing our vehicles.
All these years later, those are still the company's basic policies.
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit our website and we hope we can be of service to you in the future.
